Japanese is spoken by more than 130 million people, making it the 13th most widely spoken language on the planet.

 

Until the 4th century, Japanese was a spoken language, it lacked writing. Today, Japanese is written with a mixture of the four writing systems: “kanji”, “hiragana”, “katakana” and "Rōmaji".
